Hip disorders we treat
Hip conditions leading to treatment may include:
- Hip dysplasia
- Hip joint deformity
- Hip labral tears
- Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI)
Our hip preservation treatments
We treat adult and pediatric hip disorders, offering options such as hip preservation surgery to help you resume the activities you love as fully as possible.
Hip preservation surgery
We specialize in hip procedures. These are techniques that prevent hip replacement surgery later in life. Most of our methods are minimally invasive procedures that can be in an outpatient setting. Patients usually return to their activities fully in four to six months.
- Hip arthroscopy — This minimally invasive procedure uses robot-assisted methods to complete labral tear repairs including rebuilding cartilage or reshaping the joint.
- Periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) — This minimally invasive procedure reshapes or reconstructs the socket side of the hip without replacing the joint. The procedure corrects severely deformed hip sockets and moves bones into proper alignment for better joint function.
Specialty treatment programs
Our family of hospitals has three centers that specialize in hip preservation.
International Center for Hip Preservation at Sky Ridge

We specialize in treating hip dysplasia in athletic patients such as dancers, football players, gymnasts or basketball players. No matter your condition, our goal is to treat you and patients of all ages for hip pain and get you back to your routine as fully as possible.
